Akbayan Partylist First Nominee Atty. Chel Diokno has reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to advocate for the rights and welfare of marginalized sectors across the country.

The human rights lawyer mentioned Akbayan’s track record of pushing for the passage of laws that benefit the public, especially the marginalized sector.

Among them were the Cheaper and Quality Medicines Law, the Anti-Hospital Deposit Act, and the Expanded Maternity Law.

If elected to the House of Representatives, Diokno said he will continue Akbayan’s advocacy for the welfare of solo parents, senior citizens, youth, and other sectors.

He also promised to push for the passage of measures promoting human rights, such as the Security of Tenure Bill or the Anti-Endo Law, the Student Rights and Welfare (STRAW) bill, the Adolescence Prevention Pregnancy Bill, the SOGIE bill, among others.
