Kuya Rey Bufi: A Kwentista’s Journey

Through floods, storms, and long walks, Rey learned that storytelling is not just performance but presence, showing up even when conditions say otherwise, because children kept showing up too.

Power Without Momentum

Power remains, but momentum slips, as the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. drifts from direction to reaction, showing how leadership can weaken without a crisis.

AGRI Party-list on Saturday held its campaign kick-off in Manila with public market visits and a motorcade as it renewed its commitment to continue fighting for more support for the agriculture sector to achieve cheaper food and food security, as well as quality and free healthcare service.

“Sinimulan po natin ang kampanya sa pagkumusta sa ating mga kababayan at pasasalamat sa patuloy na suporta sa ating mga adbokasiya. Maraming salamat sa ating mga nakasama, sa ating mga volunteers, at sa mainit na pagtanggap ng ating mga kababayan,” AGRI which is running for reelection in the 2025 National and Local Elections, said.

AGRI Party-list, under Representative Manoy Wilbert Lee’s leadership, championed initiatives and legislative measures to protect the livelihood of farmers, fisherfolk and local food producers whom it considers as “food security soldiers”, to provide long-term solutions to rising prices of food and achieve agricultural self-sufficiency.

Among AGRI’s principally authored legislations that passed into law this 19th Congress are Republic Act (RA) No. 11953 or “New Agrarian Emancipation Act”, RA 11985 or the “Philippine Salt Industry Development Act”, and RA 12022 or the “Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act”.

AGRI Party-list, likewise, continues to push for the passage of the “Cheaper Rice Act,” “Post-harvest Facilities Support Act,” Kadiwa Agri-Food Terminal Act” and “Fishing Shelters and Ports Act”.

Through Lee’s persistent efforts, AGRI also successfully fought for the needed increase in benefits provided by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) after more than a decade of these not being adjusted and being unresponsive to the hospitalization cost of members and beneficiaries.

“Sa suporta sa agrikultura, panalo ang mga magsasaka, mangingisda, local food producers, consumers at ang sambayanan. Tuloy ang laban para sa murang pagkain at libreng serbisyong pangkalusugan ng bawat Pilipino! Muling itanim sa Kongreso — AGRI Party-list, #88 sa balota!” the party-list stated.
