The Department of Agriculture in Region 11 (DA-11) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have joined forces to launch the first “Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) sa PNP Camps” initiative at the Police Regional Office in Davao (PRO-11) on Tuesday.

This initiative follows a memorandum of agreement signed by the DA and PNP on Feb. 21, 2025, aimed at expanding the KNP Program to provide affordable, high-quality food to police personnel and their communities.

In a statement on Wednesday, DA-11 Regional Director Macario Gonzaga emphasized the significance of the partnership, highlighting its potential to strengthen collaboration in advancing agricultural development, enhancing food security, and improving livelihoods.

“This initiative is a significant step toward ensuring that our citizens have access to affordable, nutritious, and high-quality produce,” Gonzaga said. He also urged PRO-11 personnel to support local farmers by purchasing fresh, locally grown products available at Kadiwa stores.

Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, PRO-11 Director, praised the DA’s efforts, noting that the program not only benefits police personnel but also boosts the income of local farmers and small business owners.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our shared goals of community development, economic stability, and national resilience,” Rosete said.

To date, DA-11, through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division, has established 31 Kadiwa retail stores, 14 LGU-managed Kadiwa outlets, four Kadiwa on Wheels units, and one regular Kadiwa pop-up store across the region.

The Kadiwa ng Pangulo program continues to serve as a vital link between farmers and consumers, ensuring food accessibility while supporting local agriculture. (PNA)
